Drumming and Rhythm based activities

Rhythm Retreats.com is dedicated to promoting the use of drumming and rhythm based activities to enhance people’s well-being, personal health, creativity and general life skills.

We do this by presenting and facilitating one day…week-end…and whole week, recreational drumming/rhythm workshops, tuition, drum circles, talks and team-building sessions all over Ireland, the UK and Abroad.  These “BREAKS” or “ PERSONAL TIME OUTS “ we call Rhythm Retreats.

Eddie O Neill is the founder of Rhythm Retreats.com.

Eddie is a professional Drum Circle Facilitator, and a certified Drum Therapist.  He has also been a professional Kit drummer for over 20 years, touring all over the world playing many styles of music inc; Jazz, Rock, Pop, Country and many types of World Fusion music.

Over the last 12 years he has become one of Irelands’ most sought after recreational drumming/rhythm activities facilitators.  After many years of training with many of the worlds best-known drum teachers from Africa to the USA, and Japan to the UK, he turned his attention to working with ordinary members of the public in community groups, schools, youth groups and so on, presenting Recreational Drumming Workshops, and introducing “non” musicians to the joy of hand drumming.

Wellness Drumming and Retreats

More recently Eddie has been turning his attention to the health benefits of drumming, and has been presenting “Wellness Drumming” workshops and drum circles throughout Ireland and the UK.  Over the past 2 years he has been studying Therapeutic Drumming in Nottingham UK at the Therapeutic Drumming Foundation where he has covered the Certificate level course, and is now studying at Diploma level.

Eddie is particularly noted for his Motivational / Inspirational style of facilitation, where he equates drumming activities to Life Skills development, by encouraging his clients to be as creative and energetic as possible, helping them to be adventurous and open minded, and in turn boosting their self-esteem, self-image, self-confidence and self-belief.  All this is done in a fun and playful way by using drums and percussion instruments, body percussion and rhythmical activities/games.
